Medigap Plan F is a supplement policy sold by private insurance companies.
It pays for some of the “gaps” found in Original Medicare such as co-payments, coinsurance and deductibles. There are 10 standardized Medigap plans in total, lettered from A through N.
Private insurance companies can offer some or all 10 plans. However, regardless of the carrier the benefits will remain the same for each letter plan.
The cost can differ from carrier to carrier depending on a few factors. Coverage is important, and because there are so many plans to pick from that cover only certain things, choosing a plan can be confusing.
